do any of you know a good website that I can donate to to help save the wolves. I saw something on Nightline two nights ago and it kind of disturbed me. sure wolves go after live stock, but is that a reason to kill them, or hunters going after them to lower their compition for other game, I just don't like it, and in the past few months, 80 wolves have been hunted and killed. This doesn't sit right with me and I want to do something to help. I'm an animal lover, wolves especially, even though I've never seen one, or at least remember seeing one. so if you can give me a website to donate, like the national wild life or something.
and plus, what do you all think about the hunting season, they want to make it all year round, but still.
thoughts, outrages, oppinions are welcome.

This is outragous! I'm also an animal lover, and hate to see any animal exploited. If wolves were just left alone, and we stopped incroching on their habitat, then they'd have know reason to kill livestock. I definately don't agree with the hunting season at all. Without the wolf, their prey will reproduce way to fast. As far as a website you can go to, I don't know of any, but did you try a google search? Thanks for posting this topic, because it gave me a chance to get my frustrations out on how we as humans are treating Earth's creatures. We are not the highest ranking animal on this planet, and it's high time we realized it.
Hi, I am also an animal lover. I read something about wolves a couple f days ago. It was onthe news that a school boy was on holiday in switserland and he nearly got eaten by the wolf. The boy was on a school trip. I have never seen a wolf iether. I don't know of any website but you could try and google it. That's what I do.
Yeah, I heard about that to. That wolf must have been starving, as I don't think wolves normally go after people.
he might of been on a school trip, but instead of blaiming the wolf, maybe the kid did something to provoke or startle it.
I know I can google stuff, but sometimes you don't know what you're getting into with those kinds of donation websites. just a bit of healthy paranoia.

if it was during the day and the kid was on a school trip. Then more than likely it wasnt the boys fault. Wolves don't usually come out during the day.. And almost never on there own. If they do, it's either because they are old and the pack have kicked them out because they were no longer able to hunt, or is sick and pack kicked them out for the same reason. Woles aren't all innocent like your putting on. animals can and will attack at times when not provoked. I'm not saing this about all animals. But there wild, so you never know what there capable of! As far as the hunting thing. i'm drawn on this one. If men don't hunt, then these animals are going to take over. Look at the deer for instance, they are over populating. To the point there eating farmers crops, coming into town and causing many and many car accidents, where people get hurt. I know your going to say it's because were pushing them out of there habitat. That may be true some places not all. A census count has been done and deer are way over populated. I'm not sure about the wolves. I know there for a while coyotes were. So yeah, my two cents on hunting. for what there worth. heheeh smiles, shea
oh I forgot. just curious. What if this was your son, and he was out with his school trip. A wolf out of no where attacks him, nearly killing him? Would you still feel the same about the hunting and killing of this animal? This area may be overpopulated, that may be why he's starving. i know just speculations. but i'm just curious. how you would feel?

I think we all know that wolves aren't perfect. Wolves are just trying to survive like the rest of us, and they don't deserve to be killed just because their there. No one likes to here of a child or anyone fore that matter getting attacked by animals, but they are wild, and it does happen. If it was me or my kid that was attacked, I personally wouldn't want the wolf destroyed, unless of course it was diseased. I think a lot of people tend to see wolves and other predators as a problem, and that isn't always the case, don't get me wrong sometimes they are. I don't want to turn this post in to some kind of angry debate so I'll say this and be done with it. I think we need to look at the hole picture. Some farmers are trying to think of ways to scare off the wolves rather then shooting them. As humans, we need to think before we act. I'm not an expert, believe me, I'm just stating what I believe in.
in all honesty, I don't have a kid, so I wouldn't know how i'd feel, but I wouldn't want it killed just because it attacked my kid. but that is just me.
p.s: I know they aren't inosent, but they are better than some animals. sure dear are over populating, but the wolves hunt dear sometimes which helps with population control, but what would it be like if the governments of the various countries tried to put in laws to control the human population, this is us with the wolf population. so...
